Light

A thorough check of all things mechanical for you: spelling, punctuation, capitalization, abbreviations, pagination and chapter headings, grammar, formatting. Wordy sentences highlighted. Any factual inconsistencies reported to you. All your writing checked against The Chicago Manual of Style.

Medium

I apply all the editing required for a light edit and add suggestions for changes to any content that seems too wordy. I’ll identify any problems in the sentences to avoid danglers and other horrors, and provide suggestions so your prose flows. Words checked against Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary.

Heavy

Everything for a light and medium edit checked, and rewriting where necessary. For the medium level edit, I suggest alternatives. For this level, I’ll go ahead and fix wordy sections, move phrases around, rewrite infelicities like comma splices, and tidy up your prose. I reference Garner’s Modern English Usage.
